What makes Almost Heaven Resort & Weddings so special?

We offer award winning locations just a short drive from downtown Gatlinburg! Professional Wedding Planners, Photographers, Videographers, Delicious cakes & food for your Reception, DJ Services, Music through our Bose system and Romantic Log Mountaintop Honeymoon Cabins. We can also provide lodging for all of your guests!

Can I customize the package to include exactly what I want?

Of course! We can add or delete items from most packages. Check out our Package Upgrades page.

Where is Almost Heaven Resort & Weddings located?

Our resort is located 10 miles from the heart of downtown Gatlinburg nestled in the Smoky Mountains. Our resort is private, private, private with magnificent views. Our office is located at 3724 East Parkway, Gatlinburg, Tennessee 37738. We would love to have you come and see our venues, please call for an appointment to see our venues. Our office is open Monday – Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST. Sunday by appointment.

Is Almost Heaven Resort strictly for weddings?

No, Almost Heaven Resort is for honeymoons, renewals, romantic getaways, anniversaries, family reunions, mountaintop picnics or any other reason to visit a resort committed to love & romance.

Do you have Ordained Christian Ministers?

Yes, most of our Ministers have churches in the area or are retired from the Ministry.

How long will we have the facility?

Chapel by the Stream Ceremony: You will have 1 hour. Please arrive 30 minutes before the designated Ceremony time. This time is for the Bride only to dress & for your Guests to arrive & be seated in the Chapel. The Ceremony will take between 8 – 12 minutes. The remaining time is spent taking photographs if they are included in the package. Please appoint someone to gather your belongings in the Bridal Dressing Room & take them to your car before the Ceremony starts. The Bridal Dressing Room will not be available to change afterwards. For example a 2 p.m. Wedding you will have from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. **The Groom’s Dream is a 30 minute package.**

Garden or Sky Ceremony Packages: For a Mountaintop Wedding that doesn’t include a Reception, you will have a total of 2 hours. Please arrive 1 hour prior to your designated Ceremony time. This time is for the Bride only to dress in the Bridal Dressing Room & for your guests to arrive, be seated and enjoy the awesome views. The Ceremony will take 8 -12 minutes with the remaining time spent taking photographs if they are included in your package. For example a 2 p.m. Wedding you will have from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. **The Angel’s Touch & Grooms Dream and Angel’s Touch Packages are for 1 hour.**

Ceremony with Reception at the Sky or Garden: Your Wedding will be the last one scheduled for the day. We schedule our Reception Weddings around the sunset so you will get those magnificent sunset photos. You will have the venue until midnight.

What is the Groom’s Dream Package?

It is a beautiful, romantic Private Ceremony with just the Bride, Groom & Minister. You will need to arrive dressed and have a total of 30 minutes at the venue. It is only available Monday through Thursday (subject to availability).

What does a Private Ceremony mean?

It means just the Bride & Groom only. Most of our packages can be customized to include Guests at an additional charge.

How many Guests can I have?

Our Chapel by the Stream can accommodate up to 25 Guests. The Garden of the Heavens will accommodate 50-75 Guests. The Sky will accommodate 200 Guests for a Ceremony. The Pavilion at the Sky will accommodate up to 100 Guests indoors with additional outdoor seating available. Our Wedding in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a private Ceremony with no Guests.

What happens if we schedule an outdoor wedding & it rains or the weather is bad?

No problem! We can move our Wedding in the Park to our Chapel by the Stream. Both the Sky & the Garden have covered Pavilions.

How many photographs will be taken of my Ceremony?

Generally, our Professional Photographer will take 75 to 100 at our Chapel and the Wedding in the Park. Sky and Garden the photographer will take 100 to 150, sometimes more. You will be able to view your photos online just days after your Wedding. You will email us your photo selections & we will mail them to you. You, your family & friends will have the opportunity to purchase additional photographs online. Don’t forget you may purchase the CD with Copyright Letter of all of the photographs taken.

What kind of flowers are included in the package?

We know how important beautiful flowers are, so we only use the freshest flowers available designed by the most up to date & creative florists. A typical bouquet is a hand tied clutch of roses & succulent greenery. You may choose the color or a combination of colors that will match your wedding. What will my cake look like?

Cakes are similar to flowers in that they are a very special part of your wedding. Your package may include a traditional cake with traditional decoration that is simple & elegant. Specialty cakes, flavors, fillings, columns, fountains and other decorations are all available at an additional charge.

What does the fully accessorized tuxedo include?

It is a classic black tuxedo. You may choose either a vest or cummerbund with a tie or bow tie, white or ivory shirt. You will need to bring socks. Please make arrangements to pick up your tuxedo the day before your Wedding to ensure proper fit.

Can my Guests take photographs during the Ceremony & during the photo session afterwards?

We have a no photography & video rule on Almost Heaven Property. If your package includes photography, let the professional photographer do their job. To make things easier & to eliminate an embarrassing situation tell your guests to leave their cameras & video equipment in their cars. After the photographer finishes & if time allows your guests may take photos. There is a $200.00 charge if your Guests take photos or video while our photographer is working.

What options do I have for paying for my package?

Ceremony only packages require a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit to confirm your date, time & location. The balance is due 3 weeks prior to your Wedding Date. Ceremonies with Reception packages require a $2,500.00 nonrefundable deposit to confirm your date, time & location. The balance is due 60 days prior to your Wedding Date. We request that you make monthly payments. All deposits & payments are non refundable.

Can I change my date if I need to?

For ceremonies only, you may change your date up until 30 days prior to your Wedding Date. A $200.00 rescheduling fee will be charged at this time. For ceremonies with receptions you may change your date up until 120 days prior to your wedding date. A $500.00 rescheduling fee will be charged at that time. A death in the immediate family, military deployment and other approved circumstances may be taken into consideration. Any items that have already been ordered and cannot be cancelled, payment in full is still due.

What will happen if my guests are late for the wedding?

Your time frame is very strict because there may be weddings before & after yours. If your ceremony starts late, it will take away from the time you have for photographs. If your Ceremony has to be postponed, the rescheduling fees apply. Please make sure to include directions in your invitations.

How do I obtain a Tennessee Marriage License?

You may order your Marriage License online. Please read the instructions carefully. Do not order your license until 30 days or less before your Ceremony date. You will both need to pick it up with proper identification. Please check hours that they are open especially during holiday season.

Can we rent a mountaintop honeymoon log cabin for just a couple of days?

We would love to have you come & enjoy our cabins for 2 persons at any time of the year. We have variable season rates. Call us at 800.771.1207 for more info.

Are there any hidden fees?

No but tipping for your Minister, Photographer & Wedding Planner/Coordinator is always appreciated. No commissions are distributed to them for your wedding.
